Wed 05/12/2007Congratulation to Leila Lotti Dear GIA Friends,
The President of the Republic of Finland, Tarja Halonen, has on November 30th granted Ms Leila Lotti, a Finnish honorary title, kamarineuvos.
This is the first honorary title in Finland granted to a person who has made her career within the field of market research. As such, the title also signifies the appreciation for market research and opinion polling.
Kamarineuvos Lotti joined Suomen Gallup in 1970 and later worked as the Managing director of Suomen Gallup (1989-2001) and Managing director of Elintarviketieto - Food and Farm Facts (1993-2000). Her international positions include regional representative of World Association of Public Opinion Research (1986-1992) and member of the board of Gallup International Association (1985-1989), where she also held the Chairman position (1993-2001). She was also one of the pioneers of market research in the former Soviet Union.
Additionally, kamarineuvos Lotti is the trustee for the largest collection of naive art in Finland with some 500 paintings, displayed at the TNS office building and in several art exhibitions around the country. She is the author of several books and has taught at the Helsinki School of Economics.
Today, after retiring from TNS, she is the chair of the prestigious Alfred Kordelin foundation, granting over four million euro annually for the advancement of science and culture. She has also held several other positions of trust during her career.
TNS Finland was the first signatory of the application for title and I am sure you all will join us in congratulating kamarineuvos Leila Lotti for this prestigious title.
