NewsMon 05/01/2009Employment Press releaseGallup International’s Voice of the PeopleTM End of the Year Survey found that although two thirds (66%) of global citizens interviewed expect unemployment rates to increase in their own countries, only one in four working world citizens (27%) think there is a chance that it is them that may become unemployed-a similar figure to that found in 2007. The survey, which was conducted between October and December 2008 – once the global financial crisis had already exploded - asked people in 46 countries of different continents about their labour prospects, also shows that, whereas 31% of the respondents think they would be able to find a new job fairly quickly if they become unemployed, more than half (54%) fear it may take longer. « Other news items |
